Alta MTB Festival – No Limits takes place from Friday to Sunday (28-30 June).
In collaboration with Halddetoppen Telemarkslaug, we welcome you to an informal mountain bike gathering!
Electric or regular MTB – you are equally welcome!
MTB rides for everyone
We offer a wide range of guided MTB rides designed for different skills and levels of fitness. Whether you are fit or less fit, young or old, experienced or amateur – everyone who likes mountain biking, or thinks they like mountain biking, will find their place and options to suit their skill level.
We wish to create biking joy and show how fun mountain biking can be – on your own and together with others. This is a festival that can inspire both unity and competitive instinct – within the family, group of friends and among colleagues. Train and ride the route together or ride the route that suits you each best on your own and enjoy a social time together afterwards. This event provides the perfect opportunity to laugh, compete and create stories and memories together.
The routes are graded green, blue or red. These colour codes refer to definitions taken from “Merkehåndboka”.
Green is for those with little in mountain biking, where one mainly rides gravel roads, gravel paths and trails without technical challenges.
Blue is for slightly experienced mountain bikers with some technical skills. This includes trails with minor obstacles and basic technical sections (such as the Jorra Trail and much of the Alta River East).
Red is for advanced mountain bikers with good technical skills, who can tackle demanding and technical obstacles (such as Sonja Kristins Cocktail and Store Borras)
E-Mtb or regular mountain bike
We don’t distinguish whether you come with an electric or analogue mountain bike – you are equally welcome – and the guides set up trips that suit both!
Festival programme
See the festival programme on this page or on Facebook.
Camp and pub
On Friday and Saturday there will be a camp at GLØD with a lavvu (Sami herdsmen’s tent), bonfire and benches. This will be the social meeting place before and after the mountain bike rides, where you can discuss your ride and experiences. After all, when people gather with a common interest, there is always plenty of laughter and a good atmosphere.
You will also find the “Single Track Pub” selling soft drinks, beer and wine.
Opening hours:
Friday 19:00 – 23:30 (7 p.m. – 11.00 p.m.)
Saturday 18:00 – 23:30 (6 p.m. – 11.00 p.m.)
Bank cards, Vipps and cash are accepted!
Dinner
Dinner on Saturday is included in the weekend pass and is served at 19:00 (7 p.m.) in and around the big lavvu.
If you want dinner on Friday, you can buy one of our famous burgers straight from the BBQ. This is something you simply must experience! The burger is served with delicious potato wedges. (Please note that you need to order your burger in advance either by choosing “Dinner Friday: GLØD Burger” as an option when you book the weekend pass or by sending us an e-mail). If you order a day pass, you can also choose dinner on Saturday as an optional extra when booking.
Accommodation
We also offer accommodation in our Aurora Canvas Domes! This unique accommodation is so close to the Single-Track Pub that it will be easy to find your bed at the end of the evening! Breakfast is included in the price and will be served in the GLØD lounge.
An alternative for a group travelling together is our stylish Pine Forest Apartment Suite, which is also situated right in the centre of things where No Limits is being held. There is a private sauna, washing machine and all facilities. Breakfast is also included here. The apartment can accommodate four – a family or four friends – and is without doubt the perfect base for the weekend.
We only have five Aurora Canvas Domes and one apartment, so it will pay to be quick if you want to book one of these.
NB: You book accommodation online – either when you order your weekend pass (it will appear as an add-on) or by clicking on accommodation.
Shower & sauna
After the bike rides, the sauna at GLØD will be hot and there will be plenty of hot water in the showers. This is included in the weekend pass. If you are staying in the Pine Forest Apartment Suite, you will even have your own sauna and shower.
Bike rental
We rent out both regular and electric mountain bikes. These are highly suitable, full suspension 29er mountain bikes that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face! Trek Fuel Ex 8 (regular) or Trek Rail 5 (electric). We believe these are perfect mountain bikes for the conditions you will encounter in Alta and Finnmark!
Special offer for No-Limits: festival participants pay for two days bike rental and get the third day free.
NB: Order MTB and e-MTB rental directly on our website. Select Friday and Saturday (then the price will be for two days).
