Guide

We are always looking for the good guide!

It could be that you are educated in history, social science, biology, geology or geography – or something else. At least as important, however, is that you are proud of Northern Norway, have “GLOW” and are passionate about outdoor life. You are also preferably a certified nature guide with education from, for example, ANG – Arctic nature guide.

GLØD offers unforgettable guided experiences in the summer in canoes, on foot and on mountain bikes (analogue and electric). But the fun doesn’t stop when the summer is over! In winter, we offer snowshoe tours, Northern Lights safaris, fat bike experiences and ski tours and expeditions. In addition, we offer accommodation in super-stylish Aurora Canvas Domes and in GLØD Boutique Apartment.

As a guide at Glød Explorer, you will have the opportunity to show off your leadership skills, outdoor expertise and passion for adventure. You will be responsible for leading Norwegian and international guests through outdoor activities and ensuring a fun, educational and safe experience for everyone involved.

Our ideal candidate has knowledge of local flora and fauna, history, experience of outdoor activities, excellent communication skills and a talent for and enjoyment of storytelling. At Glød Explorer, we prioritize giving our guests an unforgettable experience, and storytelling is an important component of this. However, the guide also has the ability to listen, and to tell the guest. It is also a big advantage if you are a “campfire gourmet” as the lunch is often made outside on the fire.

You are fluent in English, spoken and written, and preferably also another language, such as German, French, Italian or Spanish.

We can offer modern facilities, super nice colleagues and competitive conditions.
Working hours will vary and you will enter a clear rotation.

If you think this sounds exciting, we’d love to hear from you.

Send application with CV and references by email to (post@glodexplorer.no)

Northern Lights guide (positions are filled)

The hunt for the Northern Lights is one of our most important experiences and has been in our range since 2007.

As a guide, you take your Northern Lights guests where there is the greatest chance of finding the Northern Lights this particular evening. The experience also includes a lecture on Glød, dining, driving and photography.

As a guide, you have a new VW Caravelle 4 motion at your disposal, and have a maximum of eight guests with you on the trip.

Working hours vary somewhat, but roughly from 18:00 to 01:00.

The person we are looking for must be service-minded, positive, conscientious, fond of photography and have a driving license for a car. We have guests from more than 30 nations each year. Not many of them speak or understand Norwegian. English skills are therefore a minimum requirement.
If you do not already have a driver’s license for passenger transport, this must be arranged upon employment. Training in northern lights photography will be provided if required.

The position is part of a rotation arrangement with three other Northern Lights guides.

We offer this tour from 15 September to 10 April.
